Johor Golf & Country Club (JGCC) is one of Johor Bahru’s most established private members’ clubs, with an 18-hole championship course, ballroom, driving range, and Royal Suite facilities. A&T was engaged to deliver the complete exterior signage and wayfinding package for the club’s development—covering building identification wall signs, a backlit crest logo, wall-mounted directional lettering, and a network of road direction signs across the site. Every element was produced in 5mm aluminium laser-cut construction with a 2K gold colour spray finish, maintaining the club’s premium gold and navy brand palette throughout the site.

The club’s signage brief called for a consistent premium finish across all wayfinding and identification elements—no standard box-up lettering, no printed panels. Every sign on the site uses the same material language: 5mm aluminium sheet, laser-cut to shape, finished in 2K gold spray. Road direction signs are mounted on 100mm square aluminium post structures with aluminium box blade arms. The result is a wayfinding system that reads as designed rather than fabricated.

The primary entrance identification for the clubhouse is built around two elements working together on the white rendered feature wall: the JGCC shield crest and the word “CLUBHOUSE” in 5mm laser-cut aluminium gold lettering. The crest is produced as a die-cut shape with internal LED backlighting, creating a warm halo glow around the full perimeter of the shield—visible both in daylight and at night. The “CLUBHOUSE” lettering beside it is non-lit, relying on the 2K gold finish to catch ambient and ground-level spot lighting.

The Ballroom building uses the same wall sign format as the Clubhouse—JGCC crest on the left and facility name in 5mm laser-cut gold lettering on the right—applied to a large white rendered panel wall. This consistent format means members and guests read each facility sign in the same way: the crest confirms the club and the name confirms the destination.

At pedestrian decision points, directional information is delivered via 5mm aluminium laser-cut lettering mounted directly onto the rendered wall surface. Gold text and directional chevrons indicate “BALLROOM” and “DRIVING RANGE.” Mounting the letters directly to the wall keeps the finish clean and architectural, with no visible backing board or frame.

Road Direction Signs—100mm Aluminium Post with Finger Blade Arms

The road-level wayfinding uses freestanding direction signs mounted on 100mm square aluminium posts with aluminium box blade arm structures. Each blade carries a destination name and directional arrow in gold aluminium box-up lettering. Signs were installed at key vehicle decision points for the Clubhouse, Ballroom, Driving Range, Royal Suite, Golf Course, and Loading Bay.
Using aluminium box-up lettering rather than printed text gives the gold finish depth and keeps it consistent with the wall signs and die-cut lettering across the rest of the site.

What This Project Demonstrates
Material consistency across sign types is what makes a site feel premium
Road signs, wall lettering, building identification panels, and a backlit crest logo all use 5mm laser-cut aluminium and the same 2K gold spray finish. The result is a site where the signage reads as part of the architecture rather than something applied on top of it.
Backlit logo crests require precise die-cutting
The JGCC crest is a complex heraldic shape. Producing it as a backlit sign requires an accurate profile so the LED halo illuminates evenly around the perimeter. Laser cutting follows the exact vector outline of the artwork at any scale. A&T handles complex die-cut shapes in-house using aluminium and acrylic.
